National Sales Manager–Retail Accounts/Private Label Legwear (socks/ hosiery)

We are a reputable executive search firm, currently assisting our client – a well established and successful ($600 MIL+ sales) manufacturer of intimate apparel and hosiery; consisting updating innovative technological and cost effective advancements for over two decades.  Due to continued growth and expansion of U.S. operations, there currently exists a new opportunity for an exceptional, experienced National Sales Professional to introduce and sell quality private label leg wear (socks/stockings/hosiery) to appropriate retail stores.

Reporting directly to the VP, Business Development-USA, this National Sales Manager will initially be an individual contributor with future management responsibilities; and will be based at the USA headquarters in northern New Jersey.  Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of successful sales of similar private label consumer products to the top retail chains; who possesses recent successful industry sales experience, specifically selling private label socks/stockings/hosiery to big-name department stores and other retailers, with thorough knowledge and understanding of – and contacts/developed relationships with buyers in – this business/market.  Candidates will have a good understanding of varied department and retail store merchandising and shopping trends, and keen industry knowledge including current pricing models.  Ideally, this professional sales executive will have established contacts and relationships with socks buyers of key retailers, and proven business development capabilities to generate one’s own leads.

The successful candidate must be very detailed and organized with necessary functional expertise, education, & training, and demonstrated client service abilities, be an astute independent worker as well as a good team player, and energetic - with high levels of motivation and perseverance being of utmost importance.  This National Sales Manager will have the physical and emotional endurance to travel extensively as needed, with particular expertise in cold-calling, strategic sales, business development, and closing techniques; and polished presentation and communications skills.
